Have you ever wanted to try your hand at becoming a wrestling referee, commentator, or ring announcer? We’re excited to announce that our non-wrestling training sessions are returning later this year, starting in May!
These sessions are perfect for anyone who wants to get involved in wrestling but doesn’t feel that an in-ring career is right for them, no matter the reason. Sessions are organised by Michael Mann, who has over 50 years of experience in the wrestling industry and has served in all three roles with WAW.
Several current roster members even began their wrestling careers through non-wrestling training only to make the switch to active competition later on, including current WAW Academy Champion Ryan Richards and former champion Brandon Innes.
Sessions are currently scheduled to take place on the following dates, running from 10 am until 4.30pm at the WAW Academy & Performance Centre in Norwich. Each session will cost £30 per person. Visit our training page to find out more.
- Sunday 30th May
- Sunday 27th June
- Sunday 25th July
- Sunday 22nd August
- Sunday 26th September
- Sunday 24th October
- Sunday 28th November
Naturally, these sessions are reliant on the planned relaxation Covid-19 restrictions, in line with the UK Government’s road map, and may be subject to cancellation should any alterations to that plan be announced. We are closely monitoring all updates provided by the UK Government, with our Health & Safety Co-Ordinator continually assessing our ability to resume training.
