[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Comedian Rosie Jones got to grips with wrestling when she visited the WAW Academy & Performance Centre late last year, as part of her series Trip Hazard: My Great British Adventure, which is currently airing on Channel 4.

The show features Rosie travelling around the UK as she explores local culture and traditions, as well as the beautiful scenery offered by the British Isles.

Rosie, who has cerebral palsy, dives headfirst into many unique roles throughout the series, including making her debut appearance inside the squared circle. After a two-hour crash course in the basics of British wrestling with UK Hooligan and current World Tag Team champion Roy Knight, it was up to Rosie to hold her own in a match with wrestlers who had years of experience.

It quickly became clear that Rosie was a natural in the ring, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd after her match.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”17820″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The special showcase match took place at the WAW Elite show on September 26th, in front of a restricted audience. Rosie was accompanied to the ring by fellow comedian Jamali Maddix and competed in a tag team match, teaming with former Bellatrix British champion Vanessa against Leia Elise and Trai-cie. Jamali served as a manager/cheerleader, supporting Rosie and Vanessa from the relative safety of ringside.

In addition to her wrestling match, the Norwich episode follows Rosie as she learns how to Molly dance, tours Norwich Cathedral, and visits a number of other local attractions.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/bUy6LFmkCzU” align=”center”][vc_column_text]Tune in to Channel 4’s Trip Hazard: My Great British Adventure at 8.30pm on Friday 23rd April to watch the episode.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
