[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]WAW/Bellatrix OnDemand arrives on Wednesday 17th June. For just £6 a month, you’ll have unlimited access to 26 years of British wrestling from the WAW Archives. Subscribing will also let you see some of the biggest names in the wrestling world who have been featured at WAW events over the years.

Securing deals with internationally recognisable wrestlers can, of course, take time. Company owners Ricky and Zak Knight have spent many days and nights in the office finalising these deals, often spending hours on the phone to ensure that WAW shows continue to provide value for our fans.

Some have immediately set their sights on making an immediate impact in WAW. Among others, American superstars Steve Corino, Mr. Anderson, Chris Masters, and two-time champion Luke Hawx have all etched their names into the WAW history books by capturing the prestigious WAW World Heavyweight title.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdNw7R9FSjE” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Others chose to focus on challenging members of the WAW roster to prove their abilities. One of the biggest signings in WAW history was made in 2016 when legendary luchador Rey Mysterio was signed for a one night only appearance. The announcement of Mysterio, who took on WAW’s own Kip Sabian and Peter Nixon in a three-way match, sent local media into a frenzy that such a popular wrestler would be appearing in Norwich. Sean Waltman, James Storm, Robbie E, Cody Hall, and Shawn Daivari have also tested their mettle against WAW regulars in recent years.

More huge international names were signed for the groundbreaking Fightmare 3, held at Norwich City football stadium, Carrow Road, in June 2019. Billy Gunn, Bob Holly, Rene Dupree, and Sinn Bodhi all debuted at the blockbuster event. A fantastic 2019 continued with The Wrestling Weekender at Pontins in Prestatyn, Wales. Gunn, Bodhi, and James Storm all returning later in the year.

Bellatrix Female Warriors has seen its share of the world’s top female wrestlers. Bellatrix founder engaged a series of matches with the legendary Lisa Marie Varon after tension boiled over between the two. Like its WAW counterpart, the Bellatrix World Championship has also been sought by some of the world’s top female wrestlers. Mercedes Martinez, Courtney Rush/Rosemary, and Allison Danger have all held the title while others, including Mickie James, were unable to claim the gold. Crossover events have even been held with US-based companies SHIMMER and RISE, which featured appearances from the likes of Cheerleader Melissa, LuFisto, Deonna Purrazzo, Shotzi Blackheart, and more.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Many notable non-wrestling personalities have appeared in various capacities at WAW and Bellatrix events. Scott Hall was brought in to serve as Commissioner for both companies between 2016 and 2018, during which time the fabulous SoCal Val could be found presenting shows at ringside. Ted DiBiase appeared in 2017, silencing the nefarious Tommy Lee after disrespecting the Million Dollar Man. Hardcore wrestling legend Mick Foley became the first of many fantastic announcements for Fightmare 3, where he served as Guest Commissioner and appointed himself as the special referee for a match which naturally saw a cameo from Mr. Socko. Booker T made a special appearance at The Wrestling Weekender in Prestatyn, Wales before being named Guest Commissioner for one night only in Boston. In Bellatrix, Vickie Guerrero also served as Guest Commissioner, Terri Runnels appeared as a backstage interviewer, and trailblazing women’s wrestler Madusa was on hand to observe the Bellatrix/RISE crossover event.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQS5WLAPzdM” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]You can expect to see all of these names and many more when WAW/Bellatrix OnDemand launches this Wednesday![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
